Ridge Runner is lucky enough to take place on privately owned land, giving our runners and walkers access to a part of the Coromandel that few people get the opportunity to experience.

For us, looking after that place goes hand-in-hand with enjoying it.

So in 2026, the tree planting continues at White Star Station, adding another chapter to what was started back in 2024.

And this year, every Ridge Runner gets to be part of it.

When entering, you’ll have the choice to receive your Ridge Runner finisher medal or donate a native tree instead. Can’t choose? You can do both!

Choose the medal as a reminder of the adventure you conquered. Choose a tree and leave something behind that will continue growing long after race day. Or choose both and celebrate your achievement while doing your bit for the future.

It’s another small way we can help care for this incredible piece of the Coromandel and make sure Ridge Runner leaves behind more than footprints.

Because while the event might last one weekend, we want its positive impact to keep growing for years to come.
